A John Lennon & Paul McCartney Fanlisting

Welcome to The Nerk Twins, the TFL.org listed fanlisting for John Lennon & Paul McCartney, whose personal and creative lives were inexplicably, beautifully intertwined. This fanlisting celebrates not just their extraordinary contributions to art but the complexities of their relationship as fierce collaborators, competitive artists, and deeply connected friends - a relationship that defined an era and continues to inspire generations.

What is a Fanlisting?

A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are) - they are just a place where you can have your name listed along with other fans of the same subject. TheFanlistings.org is the original (but not only) web directory for fanlistings, dedicated to uniting fans across the globe.

Rules

Everyone is welcome to join, not just people with websites - it's a fanlisting, not a fans with websites listing after all. But, if you want your website listed, a link back to

https://thenerktwins.nekoweb.org

is required. Just grab one of the buttons below or simply provide a text link. I reserve the right to not link your website if I deem the content inappropriate (hate, porn, illegal sites).

Lennon had attitude, and, taking his lead from Lennon, McCartney could be similar. At times, they reminded me of those well-to-do Chicago lads Leopold and Loeb, who killed someone because they felt superior to him. Lennon and McCartney were superior human beings. Bob Wooler

Buttons

The buttons I made are SVG images, which means, unlike traditional image formats like GIF, JPG or PNG that use pixels, they look crystal clear and crisp no matter the resolution. When you want to use an SVG image as a link, you can do it exactly the same way you would with any other image. But please do not direct link; upload the images to your own site or an external file host. Of course, you are also free to make your own codes or - if you're familiar with SVG technology - to manipulate colour and style.

Join

Use this application form to join the fanlisting. Please provide a name or alias and choose a country. Those are the only required fields. If you want to update your info or be removed from the list, please use this form instead.

Hello, I'm Fritzi from Germany!
I'm a fan of Lennon/McCartney because their relationship is a testament to how two distinct voices can harmonise to create something truly extraordinary.

Chalk & Cheese

At Woolton village fete I met him. I was a fat schoolboy and, as he leaned an arm on my shoulder, I realised that he was drunk.

That's how Paul McCartney remembers the fateful day of 6th of July 1957. John Lennon's memory of that day is somewhat cloudy, but as he later recalled, That was the day, the day that I met Paul, that it started moving.

Two teenagers growing up in the post-war cultural landscape of Liverpool, their friendship blossomed through their shared passion for the new and exciting sounds from America - R&B, Soul and of course, Rock 'n' Roll - which represented a tantalising escape from the grey industrial constraints of working-class life.

From the very beginning, they were in each other's dreams. As Paul remembered, once they became friends, he and John shared a vision of digging in the garden and finding gold coins - a premonition of their future success and a testament to their teenage desire to become rich and famous.

Their bond was further strengthened by the early and tragic losses of their mothers. Although never openly discussed, these experiences created an immediate and profound emotional connection. As Paul reflected, We both had this emotional turmoil which we had to deal with and, being teenagers, we had to deal with it very quickly. We both understood that something had happened that you couldn’t talk about – but we could laugh about it because each of us had gone through it.

Musically, they were extraordinary collaborators who developed a near-telepathic creative process. Their songwriting method involved intense, eyeball to eyeball collaboration, each bringing complementary strengths: John's raw, introspective edge, wit and willingness to venture off the beaten path were balanced by Paul's melodic sensibility and optimism. This unique combination allowed them to create more than 180 songs that captured a wide range of emotions and themes, from love and joy to loss and longing that continue to resonate with audiences worldwide.

But John and Paul weren't just bandmates during various iterations of the group, such as The Quarry Men, Johnny and the Moondogs, The Beatals, The Silver Beetles and ultimately The Beatles. They also always embarked on ventures as a duo, whether that was hitchhiking to Paris, partnering in an X-rated photographic enterprise or forming their own music group during a trip to Scotland called The Nerk Twins - the inspirations for the name of this fanlisting.

The global phenomenon of Beatlemania thrust them into an unprecedented shared experience of fame, adulation and isolation, creating an intimacy and level of trust only few could comprehend.

Subtle hints and speculation about potential romantic or deeper-than-friendship dimensions have only added intrigue to their narrative.

Even after The Beatles disbanded in 1970, their connection endured, with moments of reconciliation that hinted at the deep respect and love they held for one another despite personal conflicts and public disputes. John's poignant final message to Paul - Think about me every now and then, old friend - encapsulates the enduring nature of their relationship across time and space.

About the Editor

Hello there, I'm Fritzi.

I do love the 50s and 60s. I'm a baby Beatnik . Graphic design and the small web are my passion. I also play the guitar. And sometimes I play the fool.

As a teenager I fell madly in love with The Beatles - and John Lennon - and have been a fan ever since. Creating and maintaining this fanlisting truly is a matter close to my heart and a tribute to the best songwriting duo in history and all the joy they brought into the world.

If you're interested in more of the things I do, consider visiting my other websites - a webring & clique for all lovers of the 60s, a website dedicated to my OFC in my Beatles RPF or my personal website. I occasionally post on status.cafe, too.
